Upcoming Events: Frontiers and More....

Great to see that whereas the Frontiers of Physics annual conference cannot take place in its usual vibrant live-and-in-person form this year, it has survived as an online event.

The keynote speaker is Professor Jens Dolin from the University of Copenhagen, who will be discussing how teachers are adapting to new approaches in physics teaching and learning. Teachers will also be given a choice of interactive workshops to attend which will benefit the teaching of physics at Junior and Leaving Certificate levels.

Full details are available here. Registration is open for the next two weeks. The only thing that concerns me is that I usually use the event to stock up on pens and pencils and other stationary for the year. I can't quite see how I'm going to manage that this year...

Also ongoing from the ever-creative IoP are the series of online Physics Hubs. The next one is set up to focus on how we might try to adapt to the particular challenge of helping the incoming 6th years through the school year. It's scheduled for Thursday, September 3rd.
