Oide Physics PLE Day 2

The first subject-specific events focussing on the introduction of the new senior cycle specifications begin next week.

Most science teachers around the country will already have attended one event as part of the school-closure cluster model. That day (PLE* Day 1) brought together teachers of all the senior cycle sciences to look at how they might collaborate in the preparation for the coming changes. Resources from that day are available here, if anybody missed out.

Forthcoming events, however, are going to be specific to physics, chemistry or biology. These events (PLE Day 2) start next Monday and will take place in the education centres around the country.

The basic plan is to provide the time and space to introduce the specifications, to see what is familiar and what is not familiar, and to look at how we might make plans for the coming years.

Schools do not close for these events, but substitution is provided for participating teachers.

The overall plan for this school year and next school year is here

*for those not fully up to date with their acronyms, a PLE is a Professional Learning Experience (and is pretty much what used to be called CPD).
